In-Year Admissions

 If you are looking to transfer your child to Fairfax Academy, please click on the application form above.
 Once completed you can return this to us by:
  • Post
  • Hand-Delivered to Main Reception
  • By email (post@fairfax.fmat.co.uk)
 This would need to be returned to Fairfax Academy with proof of address, either:
  1. Passport
  2. Birth Certificate
  3. Utility Bill (less than 6 months old)

New Year 7 - September Intake

(OPEN EVENING: Tuesday, 16 September 2025 – TBC)
How to apply for Year 7 in September 2026:
When open, an application must be made online at www.birmingham.gov.uk/schooladmissions
or by using a Local Authority Preference Form. The Appeals Code is included in the download.
If you have a child in Year 6 who wishes to come to Fairfax under the sibling rule and a child in the current Year 11, an application to Sixth Form must be made by the Year 11 student by 14th February 2025.

Admission via Aptitude Test

APPLYING FOR A SPECIALIST PERFORMING ARTS PLACE AT FAIRFAX FOR NEW YEAR 7 SEPTEMBER 2026 INTAKE

Fairfax Academy has a strong tradition in promoting the Performing Arts through its Annual Eisteddfod Festival.  Students can opt to sit an aptitude assessment for admission to Fairfax Academy. The assessment will test aptitude in The Performing Arts: Dance, Drama or Music.
1. You must complete your application by Friday, 26 September 2025. Please note the academy cannot accept late entries. The form will close at 3.00pm on this date.
2. Workshops for Performing Arts Specialist places will take place on Tuesday, 14 October 2025.
All Specialist Performing Arts applicants must attend the workshop in order to be considered for a specialist place.
3. Fairfax has 26 Performing Arts Specialist aptitude places available. Offers will be made in descending order by aptitude test scores to those applicants who achieve a minimum of 20 points in one of the tests.
4. Please be advised that you must include Fairfax on your local authority preference form if you wish to be considered for a place.
